1961 Gibson ES-335

The ES-335, introduced by Gibson in 1958, represented the perfect combination of traditional and modern features. The solid center block gave it solidbody performance, with increased sustain and decreased feedback. The double-cutaway and thinbody designs were also modern functional features. The arched top and f-holes tied it in to decades of Gibson tradition.

This ES-335 from 1961 (inv. #EH5830) is in excellent condition and features the pearl dot inlay of early examples, along with original "Patent Applied For" humbucking pickups. The Bigsby vibrola is original and, as on most ES-335s with Bigsby, the holes have been drilled for a stopbar tailpiece and covered with a "Custom Made" plaque. It comes with its original hard case, black with yellow plus lining, and is offered at $15,000
